Superman:  Superman

drawingMy attempts in developing Superman in comic books and video games is to help restore what his co-creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster, intended for him:  complexity.  Other writers around have interfered with the Man of Steel's complexity and made him one-dimensional.  Back in his early tales, Superman was not trusted by the police, he knew nothing about being born on another planet (he was too young to remember), and he had no romantic interest with Lois Lane.  (Although Lois may have loved Superman, he didn't love her.)  Also, it never said anything about him for fighting for "Truth, Justice, and the American Way."  This was Superman's complexity.  It was deserted, and I have hopes of bringing it back.

drawingWhen I create comic books, I have the idea of developing a mini-series in which Superman has been mistakenly accused of murder and the police think he is responsible for it.  After being framed, the Man of Steel is being hunted down by the cops while trying to figure out who the murderer really is.drawing

drawingBy the time I work on video games, the first story goes with Superman trying to rid Metropolis of crime, but he is haunted by his past — he doesn't understand why he has his powers.  The police see Superman as a vigilante who is taking the law into his own hands, thus attempting to arrest the Man of Steel but failed.  The beautiful Lois Lane has a crush on Superman, hoping to fall in love with him no matter where he goes.  However, Superman does not love her because she's "wasting his time."

My drawings of the character show serious images.  Some modifications are seen here, including the design of the insignia I made.  I even drew his hair to look more natural to suggest the curl on his forehead.
